HAVANA, February 21 (Mijail Barzaga Lugo, ANC) - U.S. residents Vicente Marcelino Martínez and Ernesto Abreu, in jail in Cuba for the past 22 months, are seeking a final disposition of their case.
Both prisoners are also protesting the cruel treatment received by inmates at the Combinado del Este prison, where they are confined, according to Tomás Felipe Arrastía, of the Party For Human Rights of Cuba. "We understand that they even give the prisoners rotten food,"
he said.
Martínez and Abreu were captured by police after an incursion into Cuba's westernmost province.
Rolando and José María Corrales Martínez, and Mario Millo Martínez, all relatives of Martínez, are also in jail in San Juan, in the same province.
