HAVANA, March 15 (Moisés Leonardo Rodríguez Valdés,
Grupo Decoro / cubanet.sergipeconectado.com) Travelers waiting for departing buses at the "El
Lido" bus terminal in the Marianao municipality of Havana are turned out of
the terminal every night at 1 a.m. They can later be seen nearby, sleeping in
the floor out in the open.
Some of those waiting are travelers who are continuing trip begun in other
provinces. Others are going home from hospitals in which they have spent time.
Some may even still have casts or bandages. Even others are traveling with
children or the elderly.
The terminal employees who turn them out say they have to protect the TV
sets, fans, water-drinking fountains, and plastic seats that were installed at
the terminal some months ago. They point to signs on the walls that say the
measure is a Ministry order.
