FROM CUBA Gas explosion leaves one dead and several injured in Guanabo, Cuba 403s2o

HAVANA, Cuba, August 10 (Reinaldo Cosano Aln / cubanet.sergipeconectado.com) - An explosion at a methane supply depot in Peas Altas, Guanabo, left one man dead and several injured at 3:55 a.m. August 5.

The explosion was supposedly caused by the negligence of the dead man, a truck driver's helper, who lit a match near the gas tanks.

Two methane tanks exploded and burned. Police and firemen responded promptly to put out the fire and aid the injured.

The driver of the truck whose helper died was initially assumed to be missing. He was later found at a nearby bakery where he had gone to have breakfast.

The truck burned and was declared a total loss.
