FROM CUBA Thirsty Havana residents hijack water truck 2h2w61

HAVANA, Cuba, August 19 (Moiss Leonardo Rodrguez / cubanet.sergipeconectado.com) - A number of thirsty residents in Old Havana forcibly took over a water truck and distributed the water to neighbors.

Water has been in short supply since hurricane Charley downed power lines.

The truck had been sent to supply a bakery operated by a government agency. After the truck's operator delivered water to La Eminencia bakery, residents who had been milling about asked him to give them the water remaining on the truck.

When he refused, residents simply took over the truck and started dispensing water to all comers.
