FROM CUBA Reprisals against jailed dissidents feared 1h5q6m

PLACETAS, Cuba - July 11 (Mara Elena Alpzar Ariosa, Grupo Decoro / cubanet.sergipeconectado.com) - The launching of a book by dissident Huber Matos has caused Bertha Antnez Pernet, president of the National Civic Resistance Movement, to fear for the safety of imprisoned relatives.

She said she feared reprisals against Jorge Luis Garca Prez and Omar Pernet Hernndez because of an exchange on Dominican radio between Matos and the head of the Cuban diplomatic mission in Santo Domingo.

Matos' book, "Boitel Vive," recounts human rights violations in Cuban prisons. Such violations have been denounced by Garca Prez, who has spent more than 15 years imprisoned and is the brother of Antnez Pernet.
