Beaches in Cienfuegos closed because of

in front of Cienfuegos have been closed
because of pollution affecting scores of
bathers.
The prohibition followed complaints of
rashes, hearing loss and eye irritation
suffered by bathers who went to local hospitals
for treatment.
Public health official Norberto Nodal said,
"The problem comes from toxic material
from industry, hospitals and residences
which ended up in the bay."
